DESCRIPTION:Michael’s Cause Step for a Cure 5k Run and Walk Race Description\n\n\nOfficially timed 5K run and walk to follow.  The Michael’s Cause 5k run is now the 3rd leg of the Staten Island Triple Crown of 5k races—awards given based on age categories.  There will be food and refreshments as well as raffles. \nMichael’s Cause raises awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and directs all proceeds to the best medical and scientific research to find better treatments and a future cure for this disease.  In addition\, Michael’s Cause helps families with boys and men affected by Duchenne by purchasing medical equipment and accessible vans. \nTo date\, Michael’s Cause has directed over 2 million dollars towards research and equipment. \nREGISTER NOW

In St. Andrew’s 315-year history\, except for this event\, there is no record that a foot race has ever been staged on these hallowed grounds. On September 30\, 2023\, the Episcopal Church of St. Andrew will hold its 2nd annual 3.1-mile run and 1.1-mile walk. By participating\, you will be contributing to the various charitable initiatives led by our church\, and your involvement will help us continue making a positive impact in the Staten Island community and beyond.\nThe start/finish area is next to the Church itself and is run over a well-known footpath\, competing in the lush landscape of our greenbelt.\nJoin us on September 30th\, connect with fellow participants\, meet new friends\, and engage in the welcoming and inclusive atmosphere of the Church of St. Andrew….and again become part of history.
